Retail Sales

The U.S. Retail Sales Report measures the monthly performance of the U.S. retail industry. It serves as an excellent measure of trends in consumer spending as well as the country's economic activity and accounts for roughly 70% of the GDP. It is a strong indicator of the current state of the economy and whether it is expanding or contracting. The Retail Sales Report is published every month by the U.S. Census Bureau.
