Federal Open Market Committee

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is a branch of the U.S. Federal Reserve System that regulates the monetary policy of the country and oversee the open market operations. The Fed, as it is colloquially known, determines the federal funds rate, and in turn, directly influences foreign exchange rates, inflation, employment, and overall economic output.
